We are proud to partner with a highly regarded consulting engineering firm to recruit an experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure and development projects across Ireland, with flexible base locations in Dublin, Cork, or Galway.
 
Key Roles & Responsibilities Reporting to a Team Leader, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including drainage, levels, roads, watermains, and earthworks
  • Knowledge of national and local authority design standards and guidance (e.g., GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB, TII Publications)
  • Experience in specifying civil engineering materials
  • Ability to analyse baseline data and deliver innovative, cost-effective design solutions using modern design software
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary designs and presenting solutions clearly within project teams
  • Conducting site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with specifications
  • Responding to contractor queries efficiently
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members in their development
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with Public Works Contracts, including preparation and contract administration
  • Developing awareness of project and commercial management in large infrastructure projects
Desired Qualifications & Requirements
  • 3–6 years’ experience in civil engineering
  • Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Client-focused mindset with developing relationship management abilities
  • Proven ability to mentor junior staff
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Full driver’s licence (desirable)
