Senior Quantity Surveyor - Mechanical

AllSite Staffing is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company for an experienced Senior/ Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join their team on major energy and industrial projects in Arklow.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly regarded engineering company delivering large-scale, technically complex projects, with involvement across the full project lifecycle.
 
Key Responsibilities:

Pre -Construction & Planning

  • Lead cost planning, benchmarking, and feasibility analysis for large-scale energy/industrial projects
  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
  • Support procurement strategy and tendering processes
  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities, scopes, and tender documentation
  • Evaluate tenders and recommend contract awards
  • Identify risks and contribute to value engineering
Construction Phase
  • Manage commercial aspects of main contracts and subcontract packages
  • Measurement, valuation, and agreement of interim payments
  • Manage variations, change control, and compensation events
  • Deliver cost reporting, forecasting, and financial risk management
  • Liaise with project management, engineering, and site teams
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations (NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke contracts)
Project Close-Out
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts
  • Settle subcontractor accounts
  • Support commercial close-out and project handover
  • Conduct post-project cost analysis and reporting
Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role
  • Proven experience delivering projects from pre-construction to completion
  • Experience in power, energy centres, pharma, data centres, or heavy industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, and contract administration
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
  • Experience within energy or power generation sectors
  • Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, or Irish standard forms of contract
  • Experience on projects valued at €50m+
