Our client a growing engineering business operating across both construction and manufacturing, is seeking to appoint an experienced QEHS Manager to support and strengthen their Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety systems.
This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for implementing structured QEHS processes and procedures across the business, and ensuring that projects and operational activities meet required compliance standards.
The role will be based between the company's Head Office in Arklow and regular site visits across their project portfolio.
The Role
The QEHS Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company's QEHS management systems. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams and management to ensure systems are effectively implemented and maintained across all sites.
A core part of the role will involve conducting inspections and audits across projects to validate compliance, identify improvement opportunities and ensure best practice standards are maintained.
 
Key Responsibilities
QEHS Systems Implementation
  • Develop, implement and maintain company-wide QEHS processes, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Irish and EU health & safety, environmental and quality legislation.
  • Support the implementation of structured management systems and operational standards.
Project Inspections & Compliance
  • Conduct regular site inspections and compliance audits across construction and manufacturing projects.
  • Monitor adherence to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify risks, non-conformances and improvement opportunities and support corrective actions.
Process & Performance Management
  • Drive continuous improvement across QEHS systems and project delivery standards.
  • Ensure processes are clearly communicated and embedded across teams.
  • Monitor performance and provide structured feedback to management.
Training & Communication
  • Provide guidance and support to project managers and site teams.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and environmental responsibility across the organisation.
  • Assist with training and awareness initiatives where required.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate QEHS documentation and reporting.
  • Conduct incident investigations and ensure preventative actions are implemented.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on compliance and performance.
 
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in a QEHS role within construction, engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience implementing processes, procedures and management systems.
  • Strong experience conducting site inspections and compliance audits.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work across multiple projects.
  • Ability to influence and engage teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent is desirable.
  • Full driving licence required due to travel between sites.
