An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join a well-established and growing organisation operating within the construction and interior fit-out sector. This is a hands-on role supporting multiple active project sites across Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing are maintained while promoting a positive safety culture throughout the business. You will work closely with site teams, management, subcontractors, and clients to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies, helping to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple project locations.
Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and industry best practices.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and site-specific safety documentation.
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and health and safety training.
Provide practical advice and support to project managers and site teams on all health and safety matters.
Ensure subcontractors and suppliers adhere to site safety requirements.
Maintain accurate records and produce regular health and safety reports.
Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders when required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a proactive safety-first culture across all sites.
What We're Looking for :
Degree, Diploma, or Professional Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, fit-out, manufacturing, or a similar environment
Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation
Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong organisational and reporting abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Full clean driving licence and access to transport, with flexibility to travel between multiple sites across Dublin.
Desirable:
Membership of IOSH, IIRSM, or a similar professional body.
Manual Handling Instructor, First Aid Responder, or other relevant certifications.
Experience working with ISO 45001 management systems.
