The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving engineering challenges, embraces continuous learning, and values sharing knowledge within a team. You'll play a key role in delivering projects that shape the public realm while working alongside experienced multidisciplinary professionals on a diverse range of infrastructure schemes.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver civil engineering designs across a range of projects, with a particular focus on urban infrastructure and active travel schemes.
  • Contribute through all project stages, including feasibility, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction.
  • Design roads, junctions, streetscapes, and public realm improvements incorporating walking and cycling infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review drawings, calculations, and technical documentation in accordance with Irish standards and guidance, including DMURS, NTA, TII and TSM.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including landscape architects and structural engineers.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians and junior team members.
  • Attend client, stakeholder and project meetings.
  • Carry out site visits, surveys, inspections and construction support as required.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications and contract documentation.
  • Support project planning and programme delivery.
  • Liaise with local authorities, utility providers and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to design reviews with a focus on safety, sustainability, accessibility and buildability.
  • Support quality assurance processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in civil engineering, ideally involving urban infrastructure or active travel projects.
  • Experience delivering projects across multiple design stages.
  • Strong understanding of Irish design standards and guidance.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively while working collaboratively within a team.
  • Working towards or interested in achieving Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
