Allsite Staffing are seeking an experienced Senior Civils Estimator to join our client's pre-construction team in Galway. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing major infrastructure projects while working alongside a highly experienced management and delivery team.
The successful candidate will lead the preparation of high-quality, competitive tender submissions, ensuring robust commercial and technical solutions that support our client's continued growth across the utilities and civil engineering sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation, pricing and submission of competitive tenders for civil engineering and utility infrastructure projects.
Manage all aspects of tenders from initial enquiry to submission and handover.
Obtain, analyse and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Develop accurate cost estimates, pricing models and bid strategies.
Collaborate with Design, Operations, Commercial and Project Delivery teams to develop winning tender solutions.
Identify and evaluate commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering proposals.
Prepare tender programmes and methodologies in conjunction with operational teams.
Support post-tender negotiations and client presentations where required.
Ensure all tender submissions align with quality, safety and environmental standards.
Provide detailed handovers to project delivery teams upon award.
Support and mentor junior estimators and members of the wider pre-construction team.
Maintain awareness of market conditions, supply chain and industry trends.
Requirements:
Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline.
Significant estimating experience within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure .
Strong understanding of Irish construction contracts and procurement processes.
Experience pricing utility, power, telecommunications, water, gas or heavy civils projects is highly desirable.
Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, labour outputs and supply chain pricing.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tender opportunities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
