We are recruiting on behalf of an established property developer seeking a motivated and hands-on Site Engineer to join their construction team in Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with 2–5 years' experience to work across a portfolio of live construction projects, including student accommodation & residential developments in Galway City & North Galway.
This is a hands-on, site-based position offering excellent exposure to multiple projects and the opportunity to develop your career on the developer side of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out setting out, surveying and site engineering duties across multiple construction sites.
Support the day-to-day coordination and delivery of student accommodation and residential developments.
Work closely with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure works progress in line with construction programmes.
Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Monitor subcontractor works, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Carry out site inspections, quality checks and snagging.
Assist with resolving technical and construction-related issues on site.
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and engineering documentation.
Liaise with design teams, subcontractors and suppliers to support efficient project delivery.
Requirements
2–5 years' experience as a Site Engineer within the construction industry.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Previous experience on residential, commercial or building construction projects.
Strong setting-out skills and ability to interpret construction drawings.
Good understanding of construction methods, site operations and quality control.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working across multiple construction sites.
Full clean driving licence.
A proactive, practical and hands-on approach to site engineering.
Salary & Benefits
€45,000–€60,000, depending on experience.
